No experience necessary. Open to all. Bring all manner of drums, percussion, pots and pans… what ever you can express yourself with, be it percussion, sousaphone, Alto-gloop, stringed instruments, African drums, Caribbean drums, Asian drums, Native-American drums, Middle-eastern drums, Digeridoos and everything in between. I’ll be bringing a few drums etc but everyone should bring their own or let me know if they need one.

The teachers are: Sam Holmstock If you happen to be an ENTRAIN fan you might recognize Sam Holmstock as the guy behind the congas or playing the djembe, timbales or Cajun rub board – when he’s not playing trombone that is. Sam has had the honor of playing music with artists such as Babatunde Olatunji, Bo Diddley, Gil Scott-Heron, Kate and James Taylor, Bob Weir, and even Bill Clinton. Currently Sam is the Principal Facilitator at DRUM STRATEGIES FOR HEALING, faculty Member at Cotuit Center for the Arts, Program Coordinator for the Youth Arts Program at Nauset Academy, and Facilitator for Drumming Through Trauma. ;
Fugan Dineen has been on the Boston College Music faculty since 2015 where he teaches courses on Indian, Brazilian, Asian and other musics of the world and is a Master Musician in Residence for the ensemble Astaza. Fugan also teaches classes at Yale and Wesleyan Universities. Fugan’s specialty is South Indian mṛdaṅgam and konakkol and he also performs on Middle Eastern, Turkish, South American and West African percussion, and on drumset. Fugan has recorded and toured with musicians in the US, South America, and in Europe. He
spent a year playing music in West Africa and, more recently, was in residence for 18 months, studying and playing music in South India.
