Hyannis— Citizens Bank and Hyannis Main Street are once again offering free family movies on the Hyannis Village Green every Tuesday at dusk throughout July and August. The Hyannis Main Street community invites everyone to bring a blanket and chair, pack a picnic or pick one up at one of the many restaurants on the street, and enjoy the show!
The first movie of the season, shown on July 7th, and will be Madagascar 2, Escape to Africa. The movie, directed by Eric Darnell and Tom McGrath, stars a cast of highly comical, zoo animals that find themselves marooned on the distant shores of Madagascar. In the face of this obstacle, the New Yorkers have hatched a plan so crazy that it just might work. With military precision, the penguins have repaired an old crashed plane-sort of. Once the first flight of Air Penguin is aloft, this unlikely crew stays airborne just long enough to make it to the wildest place of all-the vast plains of Africa, where the members of our New York City zoo-raised crew encounter species of their own kind for the very first time. Africa seems like a great place...but is it better than their Central Park home? So come join us for the excitement under the stars at the Main Street Green, and have a little adventure of your own.
In addition to Madagascar 2, Escape to Africa, we will be featuring 7 other great movies for your enjoyment.
